Old Wood Delaware began in Maryland in the 1970’s by Martin and Mary Bueneman as a reclaimed wood flooring business. As the unique style of the reclaimed wood took off satisfied customers started calling asking if Old Wood made furniture to match the flooring; it was so unique that the new wood in showrooms just didn’t match.
The Old Wood furniture business was born.
In 2006 Old Wood moved to Harbeson, Delaware; purchasing two acres including a 1918 dairy barn and 1926 farm house. The wood mill is still located in Queen Anne, Maryland.
After renovating both the barn and the house the Old Wood Master Craftsmen started filling both spaces with unique, handmade treasures.
Today the over 9,000 square feet of showrooms is filled to the brim with tables, chairs, flooring samples, rugs, accessories, buffets, end tables, and just about anything else you can imagine.
We’ve been in business for over forty years because each and every person that works for Old Wood loves and respects the pieces we make and sell. It’s a joy to have the ability to recover and reclaim wood that would normally be disposed of and create a piece that can be loved again.
